This notice explains how we handle your personal data when you visit coolbrands.uk or contact us. It is written in plain English and is intentionally short. We collect very little.
CoolBrands® UK is a programme operated by Viecomm Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 4th Floor Office, 205 Regent Street, London, England, W1B 4HB. For any question about your personal data, contact [email protected].
Viecomm Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are subject to UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
When you visit the site, our host (Cloudflare) processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type and the pages you request, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
When you email one of the addresses listed on the site, we receive whatever you send us: your name, your email address, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect information about how the site is used. That is covered in the next section.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this site, so we can improve it. It tells us things like which pages are read, how people arrived and roughly where in the world they are. It does not tell us who you are.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. We do not set them unless you accept. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected from your visit. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share this data for advertising.
We also store your cookie choice itself in your browser, so we do not have to ask again on every page. That stays on your device and is never sent to us.
The lawful basis for analytics is your consent. You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving.
Google Analytics is run by Google, which may process this data outside the UK under the safeguards Google puts in place for its customers. Google's own explanation of how it handles Analytics data is at policies.google.com.
Server logs held by our host are kept for a short period as part of standard security operations, then discarded.
Analytics data is held in Google Analytics for up to 14 months and is only ever seen by us in aggregate. Analytics cookies expire on their own if you stop visiting.
Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to answer them and, where the exchange leads to an ongoing relationship (a media enquiry, a licensing conversation), for the duration of that relationship. We delete correspondence that is no longer needed.
The lawful basis for the rest is our legitimate interest in running a functioning website and responding to people who contact us, and, where you make an enquiry, our need to take steps at your request.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it with our website host (Cloudflare) as necessary to serve the site, with Google as our analytics provider where you have accepted analytics cookies, and with our email provider so we can receive and reply to your messages. Where we work with a research partner (currently Norstat) on the public vote, that data is held by them separately and is not shared with us in any personally identifiable form.
We also give our media partner reporting access to our analytics so they can measure how our announcements perform. They see the same aggregate reports we do and nothing more.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it deleted, and to object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date below.
